Meet Mike Middleton

Mike Middleton is a Champion Texas Accordionist based in Central Texas. With a particular interest in Midi Enhanced Accordion music across multiple genres, including Texas Folk and international styles, he performs regularly at festivals, charity events, churches, and senior communities. His recent repertoire includes unique arrangements of Ghost Riders in the Sky, Amazing Grace Variations, Beer Barrel Polka Variations, and Russian Minka Variations.

Mike’s passion for the accordion is matched by his enthusiasm for teaching audiences about the instrument. In 2017, he became a member of the Board of Directors for A World of Accordions Museum in Superior, Wisconsin, where he has also performed multiple times.

In addition to the accordion, Mike can also play the tuba, sometimes playing a Mirafone 189 Kaiser Tuba at his performances. He currently resides in Central Texas with his wife, Darla. Together, they have three grown children: Meredith, Lance, and Mitch. Historically they have joined him in performances on harp, drums, and bass, respectively. When performing with his children or his close friend, Mr. Clayton Capps on tuba, the ensemble is affectionately known as “Mike and the Middletones.”
